Dear Students,
The main purpose of Industrial Engineering is the design, installation, operation and improvement of systems with the integration of human, machine, material, information and energy components to produce products (goods or services). Industrial Engineers take part in all processes of production and service systems and provide the best use of limited resources.
Our curriculum (Academic Package) at Istanbul Kültür University’s Department of Industrial Engineering is designed to train Industrial Engineers who can work in different departments of national/international companies that operates in various domains and continue their careers in the academic field. With the suggestions of our Advisory Committee, which consisted of sector, alumni and student representatives, our course contents and elective course pool are constantly renewed and, updated to be compatible with the changing business world and to better meet their needs.
Our academic staff consists of scientists who are attentive to follow and apply innovations and international criteria, and also focus on research as well as education and training. In addition to the Production and Measurement Technologies Laboratory of our department, there are also Computer Laboratories with up-to-date software that students can use constantly. In order for our students to observe the technical knowledge they have acquired in real-life systems while they are still studying at university technical visits are made to various companies and factories every year. In addition, thanks to events such as seminars, symposiums and career days held every semester, our students have the opportunity to meet professionals from different sectors and graduates.
In our department, it is important for our students to benefit from Erasmus+ exchange programs and, our students are encouraged to study at partner universities in various countries and Take part in internship programs abroad.
If our students meet the designated requirements they also have the opportunity to do double major and minor programs with the departments in all our faculties. Within the decision taken by the Istanbul Kültür University Senate in April 2013, the principle of making a double major among all undergraduate programs at Istanbul Kültür University has been adopted.
Graduation projects carried out in the senior year accompanied by an advisor are managed with a defined process that supports the achievement of our program outputs, and these projects are presented as papers at national/international conferences at the end of the academic year. In addition, successful projects are encouraged to apply to the “2209 B Industry Oriented Dissertation Support Program for Undergraduates”.
Since 2002, our graduates have been continuing their professional lives as competent professionals sought in their fields and make us proud with their success.
