The full-text paper titled “A Study on Family Businesses Started by Women Entrepreneurs as First Generation and Their Sustainability,” co-authored by Assist. Prof. İbrahim Ethem Tarhan from the Department of Industrial Engineering, was published in the Proceedings of the 10th Family Business Congress.

Our faculty members and graduates from the Department of Industrial Engineering participated in the 43rd National Congress of Operations Research and Industrial Engineering, held in Trabzon between October 2-4, to present their work. Istanbul Kültür University Department of Industrial Engineering was one of the top three universities in the congress with the highest number of participants this year, just like last year.

As a result of the evaluation made by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs (MÜDEK), Istanbul Kültür University Faculty of Engineering, Department of Industrial Engineering was entitled to receive MÜDEK Accreditation which is valid from 01.07.2024 until 30.09.2026.

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Department of Business Administration and Department of Industrial Engineering organized the “Sustainability and Innovative Technologies Symposium” on Thursday, May 9 at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center in Bakırköy campus Ataköy building.

The article titled "THE IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON THE TECHNOLOGY SECTOR: THE CASE OF A TURKISH CONSULTANCY COMPANY", prepared by Assist. Prof. İlayda Ülkü, Deputy Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering, together with her graduate student Eda Gözütok, was accepted to be published in the Engineers and Machinery Magazine.

The article titled "Investigation of Policies for the Elimination of Mucilage in the Sea of Marmara with System Dynamics", co-authored by Assist. Prof. Duygun Fatih Demirel, Deputy Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering, was accepted to be published in Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University Journal of Engineering Sciences.

The book chapters written by the faculty members and the students of İKÜ Department of Industrial Engineering have been published as a part of the book titled "Industrial Engineering in the Industry 4.0 Era" by Springer Publishing House.

The chapters published within the book and the authors are;

1- "A Quality Value Stream Mapping Study in a Knitwear Manufacturer" by Assist. Prof. Zeynep Gergin, Arda Seden Kılınç, Ozan İbrahim Aksu, Arda Burak Akalın, Abdülbaki Albayrak, Salih Güneş

Our university continues to benefit from the protocol signed with the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Within the scope of the signed agreement, our students have the opportunity to work/train by taking courses given by industry officials.

The project titled "Development of an Integrated Geographic Information System for Spatial Data Analysis", where Deputy Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering Assist. Prof. Duygun Fatih Demirel worked as a consultant and which was carried out in partnership with the companies Gece Yazılım Hizmetleri Ltd. Şti ve Yurtiçi Kargo Servis A.Ş., was accepted to be supported by TÜBİTAK within the scope of the "SME Support Call for 1707 Order-Based R&D Projects".

Our faculty members and graduates of the Department of Industrial Engineering presented laboratory studies at the "42nd Operations Research and Industrial Engineering Congress" held in Gaziantep between 1st-3rd of November.
