Industrial Engineering

Our faculty members and graduates of the Department of Industrial Engineering presented laboratory studies at the "42nd Operations Research and Industrial Engineering Congress" held in Gaziantep between 1st-3rd of November.

The papers presented at the congress are as follows:

- "Development of Excel Based Stock Management System for a Leather Label Manufacturer"

A technical trip was organized to DeFacto within the scope of the "IE7405 Supply Chain Management" course given by Assist. Prof. İlayda Ülkü, Deputy Head of Industrial Engineering Department.

The full memo co-authored by Department of Industrial Engineering Vice President Assist. Prof. Duygun Fatih Demirel titled “Economic Impacts of Expected Istanbul Earthquake: Scenario Generation”, has been published in The Eurasia Proceedings of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics journal.

The article of Assist. Prof. Okay Işık the from Department of Industrial Engineering, titled  “The Impact of Perceived Covid-19 Threat and Death Anxiety on Buying Behavior Among Academics: A Comparison Between Türkiye and Northern European Countries” (Algılanan COVID-19 Tehdidi ve Ölüm Anksiyetesinin Akademisyenlerde Satın Alma Davranışına Etkisi: Türkiye-Kuzey Avrupa Ülkeleri Karşılaştırması)”,  which Işık wrote in collaboration with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University faculty members, has been accepted to be pub

The article titled "Examining the Impacts of Military Expenditures on Economic Productivity: A System Dynamics Approach", co-authored by Vice President of IKU Department of Industrial Engineering Assist. Prof.  Duygun Fatih Demirel, has been accepted for publication in the journal Simulation: Transactions of the Society for Modeling and Simulation International.

The article titled "AN INTEGRATED ASSESSMENT OF FOOD WASTE MODEL THROUGH INTUITIONISTIC FUZZY COGNITIVE MAPS", whose authors include Res. Assist. Oğuz Emir, a faculty member of the Department of Industrial Engineering, has been accepted for publication in the "JOURNAL OF CLEANER PRODUCTION".

Assist. Prof. Ibrahim Ethem Tarhan, one of our academicians from the Department of Industrial Engineering, and Muhaddas Hussain and Mohsin Hussain, two of our Engineering Management master's graduates, for whom İbrahim Ethem Tarhan served as thesis advisor, attended the "3rd International Post-graduate Studies" congress held between 14-17 June 2023 with their papers titled "Role of Engineering Management to Increase Import and Export Internationality" and "The Impact of Total Quality Management in Increasing Customer Satisfaction for Banking Sectors".

The Department of Industrial Engineering organized a technical trip to FORD on Monday, May 22, between 10.30-13.00, in order for students to observe production processes and understand the importance of production planning and control principles within the scope of "IE6404 Production Planning and Control" course.

Alptuğ Beteroğlu, one of our 2022 graduates of the Department of Industrial Engineering, advanced to the finals overcoming about a thousand students in the 2023 CAPSIM Foundation Spring Challenge and finishing the competition in 6th place.

Alptuğ Beteoğlu first become known in the “Business Simulation” course given by IKU Acting Rector and a faculty member of the Department of Industrial Engineering Prof. Fadime Üney Yüksektepe, later achieving great success in the competition held virtually in 2023 and attended by different participants from 15 countries.

The study titled “Triggering Corporate Sustainable Performance in Construction Sector through Green Training: Moderating Effect of Barrier in Construction Management” prepared by the Vice President of the Department of Industrial Engineering Assist. Prof. İlayda Ülkü and her graduate student Imran WARIS has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Sustainable Construction Materials and Technologies.
